Here at Settle we are looking for a Regeneration Project Assistant for a 12 month fixed term contract.
We’re embarking on an exciting period of investment in our existing estates and building a range of high quality affordable housing products to meet the needs of the communities in which we operate. Your task is to support the Development & Regeneration Team to ensure the effective management of a portfolio of projects from planning to completion, engaging with residents, maximising the use of resources, maintaining stringent cost control, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and internal requirements. This role offers the opportunity to build the foundations in a career in Development and/or Regeneration.
Outline of Key Responsibilities...
You will:
- Get to know our customers, building relationships with them to assist in the delivery of our regeneration proposals and associated communication plans. Support the regeneration team to deliver successful tenant decant programmes including maintaining accurate customer records and administrative tasks to support the delivery of the regeneration programmes.
- Work with the Regeneration Officer to deliver customer engagement activities and ensure continuity of service throughout the moving process
- Provide project management support including assisting with:
- Appointing Consultants in accordance with the financial regulations
- Pre-planning public consultation on new developments in accordance with the Development and Regeneration procedure
- Individual scheme delivery to practical completion and handover.
- Liaise closely and effectively with both internal departments and external organisations and agencies, calling and attending project review and site meetings.
- Managing cashflows
- Supporting applications for grant funding
- Preparing reports
- Work with colleagues to ensure seamless handover of projects into management and with residents to ensure a stress free transition to their new home
- Be a professional in the housing sector by aiming towards and achieving professional development through the chartered institute of housing
- Represent settle in a variety of forums and to demonstrate a sensitivity to the pressure’s regeneration introduces to a community.
- Ability to take responsibility for making decisions to move things forward under the guidance of the Regeneration or Development Manager
- Be administratively efficient and ensure excellent record keeping
We are looking for someone who has...
- Experience of working in a housing or development related field
- Results focus -sets high standards for self and demonstrates drive to meet targets
- Customer Orientation – desire and willingness to address the needs of our customers
- Communication – able to convey information clearly, accurately and convincingly
- Teamwork – contributes actively to team collaboration approach
- Planning and Organisation – prioritise, organise and schedule activities to ensure targets are met
- Respect for all – demonstrates awareness of cultural and community diversity and is sensitive to their needs
- Responsive to change and able to deal with challenging situations
- IT Skills, including use of MS Office (Word, Excel and Power point) and willingness and ability to learn use of financial modelling packages (Proval and Sequel)

- Knowledge of Housing Association development standards and processes.
- Outline understanding of planning procedures
- Outline understanding of building or similar contract
- Outline understanding of technical and financial feasibility studies
