Here at Settle we are looking for a Ground Worker for a 12 month fixed term contract.
Outline of Key Responsibilities...
You will:
Focus on paving and other hard and soft landscaping works, assist with drainage works, clearing blockages, CCTV drainage surveys, digging up and repairing/relaying faulty drains, occasionally working in confined spaces, assisting with fencing works using a variety of fencing types
You will also:
- Undertake all appropriate instructions and tasks with due diligence
- Carry out all duties in accordance with the safety policies and specific codes of practise
- Ensure appropriate personal protective clothing/equipment is worn/used at all times
- Carry out the additional works and variations and complete the associated paperwork in the prescribed manner
- Demonstrate reasonable accuracy in estimating the amount of materials required to complete a works order
- Withdraw and return excess materials in the prescribed manner
- Ensure any materials purchased from outside supplies are obtained in the prescribed manner and delivery or collection notes are submitted to the line manager
- Undertake weekly vehicle checks. Eg oil level, water levels, tyres etc. Clean vehicle at least once a week. Ensure vehicle defects are reported to the Vehicle Workshop
We are looking for someone who has...
- Basic IT skills
- Full clean UK driving licence
- A knowledge of health and safety issues within the building industry
- Good general problem solving skills
- Enjoys working outside
Able to:
- Take part in the out of hours standby scheme if required
- Complete paperwork accurately
- Work as part of a multi-functional team
